Welcome Back Aggies

As students kicked off the school year, Wilmington College’s Aggies and Collegiate 4-H club decided to start the school year by getting a little. . . wet. On September 3rd, 2026, Aggies held their annual Welcome Back Aggies event at the academic farm. Only this year, they decided to bring back members’ favorite event, Slip n’ Slide Kickball! This event not only brought previous members back together but also welcomed new students to connect with members and staff.
While many students were busy playing Slip n’ Slide Kickball, the event had much more to do. New students were able to meet many of the agriculture organizations on campus. They were able to make connections with familiar faces while learning about what the college campus offers for agriculture students. The event didn’t stop there! Attendees were able to save a meal swipe at the cafeteria for some grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, and desserts; most of which were generously donated by the different agriculture organizations present.

Though the event was hosted at the campus’ academic farm, a wagon ride down the road also occurred. The wagon itself took many students down to Bright Farms, a facility that the college purchased in October of 2025 to transform into an agriscience complex that will soon house classrooms, a learning laboratory, as well as infrastructure for agriculture research. Students on the wagon ride were able to tour the facility and learn more about what is to come for the Wilmington College Agriculture Department.
With the event combining food, fun, and connection, the annual Aggies and Collegiate 4-H welcome back event was a memorable way to get the school year started and students excited about their future in the Wilmington College Agriculture Department.
