Abigail Spurling

As a Wilmington native, Abigail Spurling hopes to follow the footsteps of her mother in graduating from WC. After taking the lead on Social Media for The Witness in the fall of 2024, Spurling’s passion for writing blogs blossomed. Her abilities as a Communication Arts major not only contribute to her work for The Witness, but also her unique abilities to sell vintage items on eBay and her artistic side-quests in life. Ultimately, Spurling hopes that she is remembered for her infectiously kind spirit on the WC campus.

Hailing from Leesburg, OH, Wyatt Morrow, grew up showing animals. While his talents range from writing to singing and photography, the Agricultural Communications major in him shines, as he has been involved in multiple lobbying efforts both at the Ohio Statehouse and Capitol Hill with Wilmington College, National 4-H, and Ohio Farm Bureau. His wide range of abilities make him a great addition to The Witness staff, and his double major in Community Education render him a Swiss army knife of sorts. Following his time at WC, Morrow hopes his legacy lives on via the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club, which he formed in April of 2024.

Julia Tolliver

As a student publication, The Witness requires strong writers. After winning multiple journalism awards at Wilmington high School, and taking titles in writing contests at WC, hometown hero, Julia Tolliver, fits the bill. True journalists carry a “jack-of-all-trades” demeanor. Tolliver’s passion for content creation, personal photography business, and experience writing for her high school paper showcase the Communication Arts Major’s many talents. In the end, Tolliver hopes to preserve her WC experience through her multi-media works. According to Tolliver, “We are more than just students, we’re advocates, athletes, entrepreneurs, and more.”

Growing up in Ridgeway, OH, Mary Rose found a passion for agriculture in earning her State FFA Degree. Even so, her hobbies in writing poetry, drawing, and playing the clarinet reveal her artistic side, rendering her incredibly beneficial to the communication arts efforts at The Witness. Coupling Rose’s creative side with her passion for agriculture makes her a great fit for the realm of agricultural journalism following her time at WC - a career she hopes to pursue. That said, Rose hopes to leave more than just her written endeavors immortalized at WC, and instead aims to leave a legacy of kindness.
