Stand By The Old
Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote that “we are reformers in Spring and Summer; in autumn and winter we stand by the old.” (1) Emerson was speaking of the difference between a conservative (in a literal sense, not in a political sense) and a reformer. “Conservatism makes no poetry, breathes no prayer, has no invention; it is all memory,” he wrote. “Reform has no gratitude, no prudence, no husbandry.” Emerson must have had access to a crystal ball, because despite being deceased

QAC Gives Back
Wilmington College prides itself on the activities provided to students. One of the most exciting events of each semester is Grocery Bingo, hosted by QAC, also known as the Quaker Activity Council. QAC is a group of students that includes representatives of all students on campus. Commuters, athletes, fine arts, and Greek life are all included. On August 27th, 2025, QAC hosted the Grocery Bingo of the Fall 2025 semester. It had an impressive turn out, with over 100 students

Alumni Highlight: Cierra Bolender
Cierra Bolender, member of the Wilmington College Class of 2024. Cierra Bolender was a student at Wilmington College from 2020 until December of 2023 and graduated in the Spring of 2024. She majored in education and English. Cierra originally wanted to attend a college further from her hometown, Greenfield, Ohio, than Wilmington College. However, she was given the opportunity to interview for a scholarship and attend a visit. Cierra instantly knew this would become her home
